Fanmi Lavalas rejects Ambassador Foley's accusations on the existence of an armed minority within the Organization. In accordance with its Chart, Statutes and Regulations, Fanmi Lavalas is a peaceful, non-violent political organization.

Fanmi Lavalas protests and denounces strongly the American Ambassador James Foley's accusations against the political organization in a meeting with the press on April 1st 2005. During that meeting, Ambassador Foley "denounced an alliance between ex-rebels, who were part of the opposition against President Aristide and an armed minority within Fanmi Lavalas" (AHP)

Fanmi Lavalas rejects those empty and baseless accusations. Fanmi Lavalas believes that these accusations are a new attempt to prepare the public opinion for an increase in the systematic repression to stop the legitimate demands of the Haitian population.

Fanmi Lavalas has no armed minority group within its organization. In conformity with its Statutes, its political philosophy and ideological commitments, Fanmi Lavalas remains a peaceful, non-violent Political Organization.

The February 29th 2004 illegitimate government is a disaster for the country. Only the peaceful mobilization, without weapons, remains the ideal way to lead the country back into constitutional order.
